EMITER
Electromagnetism of the City – Marcin Dymiter
Electromagnetism of the City is a sonic journey through the barely audible areas of the metropolis—from electrical discharges to the hum of ATMs and ventilation fans. In this vision, electricity becomes the “skin” of the 21st-century city, creating a dense cloud of sounds that often escapes our daily attention.
Using specialized technology—geophones, hydrophones, and electric field recorders—the artist extracts signals from urban noise that define the identity of a place and its technological transformations. It is an attempt at the audial identification of phenomena that shape our hidden, sonic everyday life.
